Since the launch of the 2018 Technical Provisions consultation, the USS Trustee has set out a framework for a potential contingent contribution arrangement.
An appropriate contingent contribution arrangement could result in lower required contributions – a ‘rebate’ against the proposed ‘upper bookend’ contribution rate.
The USS Trustee has now invited Universities UK (UUK) to put forward a proposal that has the support of employers, and is underpinned by the 11 principles within the framework.
In light of this new information, the USS Trustee has extended the deadline for the consultation to Friday 15 March 2019. Accordingly, UUK asks that employers respond, where possible, by Wednesday 13 March.
